Verify a BCEN® Credential

As an employer or hiring manager, it is important to confirm and validate the professional credentials of your staff and potential new employees or applicants.

To assist you with the verification of an employee's or an applicant's BCEN certification(s),  you can use the National Student Clearing House (NSC) site - the same background checking system you're already using can be used to instantly verify a BCEN credential.

Note:  In order for you to verify a BCEN certification via the NSC site, the BCEN credential holder must provide their first and last name exactly as it appears in their BCEN Account, and the credential holder must provide their ID number from their BCEN Account.

The NSC verification report will provide one of two statuses:

  1. Confirmed = a current BCEN certification status (no other information is provided such as exam score, or certification expiration date)
  2. Unable to Confirm = any other status (certification expired, not certified, or the ID number provided may be incorrect or does not match the ID number in the applicant's BCEN Account)

The verification fee is $10.00 per each BCEN certification verified.

Note: Effective January 1, 2011, BCEN no longer fulfills manual credential verification requests. All credential verification requests must be processed via the NSC site, or you can direct the employee or applicant to use the Publish Credential service available from within their BCEN Account.
